“Bath-time,” said Mom, then went back inside, accustomed to her child’s obedience. She drew the water and sat to wait with a book. Had to look in a while, fearing something was wrong; no laughter, no happy splash. Bathwater cooling, child was still outside.
“Bath-time!”
“I’m sun-bathing,” the child replied.
