Papers pile on his desks, real and virtual, calendars whispering urgent needs, phone-calls reminding, documents that desperately need finding—he hikes his way through the needles and pins of tomorrow’s detritus; daydreams will suffice. Home alone again, till the telephone rings and he remembers last night.

Daydreams more than suffice.
